Rhizoma is a Latin word for a certain root. the Rhizoma is a mute creature that can be found at the edge of dense forests watching the sunset. once the sun sets it lurks the dark forests unseen searching for blood. the Rhizoma mostly stands still and lifeless like a tree until you turn your back. when it gets close enough it uses its roots to grow into your skin and deep into your veins and absorb your fluids from the inside out. no one has ever spotted the Rhizoma during the morning. it is believed that it burrows and divides into the ground as ordinary roots during the morning and waits for sunset to reform. there have been stories however of this creature sneaking into unsuspecting peoples houses near the woods and absorbing small children in their sleep leaving only their clothes behind on their beds. the motive behind this creature's actions is unknown but it is known to be very dangerous.
I love this work. You mixed disturbance, darkness and fear with so much beauty and deep, touching silence. Also the text as addition to the image makes it so complex. gets right into my favorites
Yahweh, Jehovah, and Allah, this is one creepy monster here! I mean, seriously, I can't focus on her porcelain mask there without a little tingle running down my spine. Heck, I just checked to make certain my crucifix and dream catcher are still on the walls, just in case - that's how excellent your piece is here. It made me momentarily superstitious!
Anyhow, great design on the monster - the avian aspect really stands out, and, I don't know why, but they actually make this piece creepier. Perhaps its the inhuman proportions, perhaps its because it's so human the avian aspects jar the mind. Add that the the dark and decayed atmosphere, and well, you've got yourself a work of grade-A nightmare fuel right here!
Excellent job, triatholisk! Keep up the fantastic work!
Gah, I curse the day my parents decided to build our house on top of a hill surrounded by dense woods. X_X So many creepy stories revolve around woods!
